Why I am studying Japanese

Hi everyone- my name is Jiwoo Kim. I'm a Junior in CC, and I took Elementary A in Spring 2007 so I forgot a lot of the vocabulary and grammar rules. I hope I can pick it up better.

I first wanted to study Japanese because I wanted to be able to understand when watching Japanese movies. I love the romance movies of Japan, such as . I also like Japanese novels--they're really popular in Korea--but I'm sure it will take me years and years to be able to read those. :)

Since I live in Korea when I'm not at school here in New York, Japan is just an hour-long plane ride away. Next summer, I am definitely going to visit Japan to see many of the places I've seen in the movies and read in the books, and to shop!
